Ross Godsoe is the new executive officer for the 1,720 members of the Hamilton‑Burlington and District Real Estate Board (HBDREB).  Godsoe has worked in real estate for almost three decades, and has been president/broker of White Oaks Realty in Mississauga since 1973.  He has served as president of the Canadian Real Estate Association, the Ontario Real Estate Association and the Mississauga Real Estate Board.  As chair of CREA's MLS Research and Technology Committee, he oversaw the launch of mls.ca and he chaired the MLS task force that implemented CREA's IXN (Information Exchange Network).

“The HBDREB is a natural fit for me,” says Godsoe. “I've been involved in organized real estate for 18 years and have gained the experience, knowledge and contacts to help move the board into the future.”  A key part of that move, says Godsoe, is keeping a realistic role for organized real estate in focus.  “Boards and associations were created to serve members and we must never lose sight of that purpose,” says Godsoe. “Technology is leading the way and we must make every effort to serve Realtors so they can in turn provide the best service possible to their clients and customers.”

Godsoe is the fifth person to hold the post of executive officer in HDREB's 80‑year history.  He succeeds Karen Barker, who died this spring.
